Scopes for the Week of February 6th, 2018

-Leo Eclipse, Venus in Aquarius and Pluto-Jupiter Sextile-

The gist of this week’s astrology revolves around 1. The waning Full Moon in Leo, 2. A tangle between a-Cool-Venus and Deeply-Dramatic-Jupiter, and 3. Pluto’s unyielding dedication to both support personal passions and enforce the, as of yet, unofficial laws that govern our emotional world.

First, the waning Moon in Leo continues to find us in the midst of balancing, what can be best understood as, an inner transitory state. It may, for some, feel their life situation is out of control, by no fault of their own, particularly for Aquarius, Leo, Taurus and Scorpio (or those who have planets angles falling on or near 11° of those signs). Although, making an effort to slightly detach, while investigating behaviors and actions in the past it is possible to find a connection that clicks where it all begins to make a little more sense.

Aquarius can reap that bit of inspiration/enlightenment while pondering the phrase – “If I only knew then what I know now”. Leo is bound to think twice before relying on information from gossipers or otherwise considering the source in future dealings. Taurus will wonder how they ended up going along with this ‘routine’ only to be woken up by the fact that they’ve been too busy searching for inner calm outside of themselves. And Scorpio? Emotional discomfort (especially at the beginning of the week) has more to do with breaking boundaries you’ve placed on yourself unnecessarily. In other words Scorpios have been wanting to head out into unknown territory for a while and can’t see the point in delaying it any further even if experiencing some discomfort.

Secondly – that cool Venus in a scruff with the drama queen Jupiter in Scorpio: This isn’t about struggling to keep it light. If someone is regurgitating their deepest darkest, most vulnerable emotional fodder it’s probably not wise to chide them for how they ended up in ‘that situation’ in the first place. Tie back their hair. Offer a cold washcloth and maybe some Gatorade. Let them get it out. Heck, maybe you’re the one in need of a good purge. In that case, get it out all the same. Once, this episode is over you’ll feel different and so be able to handle the upward curve with an increasingly clear head. That cool Venus will go a long way into putting your situation, past or present, in perspective.

Lastly, …DUN-DUN-DUN-DUN …PLUTO! Throughout the year Pluto with be well angled to Jupiter. For the most part Jupiter’s placement in Scorpio is the influence that tickles the back of your throat, enlivens deep seated emotions that have stuck to your guts for what seems like forever, inducing this emotional purge of sorts. It’s the influence that has brought about the ‘me too’ movement and brought on a slew of legal battles. No question the period when Jupiter moved into Scorpio (last November) has, so far, been one for the books. Pluto exacerbates the issue and enforces a surety that this will have long-term effects. This is especially evident when Jupiter and Pluto work together, as they will for most of the year, to a greater or lesser degrees. We are still riding its heightened effects from mid-January. The force of this duo will peak again in April and September.

What does all this mean for your Sun Sign? Where Pluto falls in your chart you’ll be dead set on making a permanent change, lead by an intense psycho-emotionally driven mindset. Here inflexibility and determination, co-mingle with a touch of fear or even paranoia.

Where Jupiter falls, that’ll be the emotional chyme stirring, which, at times, hopelessly entangles guck from the past with anything that triggers it in the moment. Anyone had a bad night with Tequila? One whiff and it all comes back doesn’t it? The goal? Banish Tequila? Or maybe omit it from the list of possibilities when someone asks: “What’s your poison?
